Sewing Squad
A FREE sewing program taught by Threaded Together Mentors at schools and community centers. Kids learn the basics of hand and machine sewing, with an emphasis on resourcefulness and repurposing. We believe kids should have every opportunity to work with their hands, learn practical skills, and explore their creativity. Our Sewing Squad program provides FREE, after-school sewing opportunities for kids and teens in our community. Designed to be taught in schools and community centers, our Sewing Squad curriculum teaches the basics of hand and machine sewing, while also promoting development of the 5 P’s: Patience, Persistence, Problem Solving, Precision, and Positivity. Threaded Together provides all materials, equipment, and instruction for qualifying organizations. If you are a teacher or administrator in Flagstaff, AZ and are interested in partnering with us to develop a Sewing Squad program for your students, please contact us!

STEP Program
Our Sewing and Textile Employment Pathway (STEP) program is a 720-hour vocational training program that expands economic opportunity for low to moderate-income (LMI) residents and enriches our community. Housed in our Threaded Together Workroom, this program gives participants the opportunity to learn technical and employable skills in a safe and empowering environment. Threaded Together aims to help every STEP apprentice find meaningful work in the textile industry upon graduation.
Flag Wool and Fiber Festival
The Flag Wool and Fiber Festival is one of the Southwest's premiere fiber and textile arts extravaganzas and the largest of its kind in Arizona.
Flag Wool brings 3,000 fiber lovers to Flagstaff from around the Southwest and United States on June 1 & 2. The unique focus of our festival creates a unique opportunity for cross-cultural connections and fiber arts immersion.
There's truly nothing like it!
This free-to-attend festival is full of farm-to-yarn fun. Kids can pet camels and craft textile art, artisans can sell locally sourced and crafted textiles to thousands of attendees, fiber artists can learn from some of the best artists in the field, and all proceeds benefit a textile art nonprofit.
Even if you've never considered yourself a fiber lover, there's so much to see, learn, and feel that we might just per-suede you!
We hope to see you there!
